My Ambition far exceeds my distant-seeing eye
Born an American Nomad, I’ve traversed every corner of the United States, immersing myself in diverse landscapes and cultures. Derived from a lineage steeped in musical prowess, my family’s quiet talents span directing, performance, and composition.
My musical journey began in 2008 when my mother took me to a middle school summit where my mother compelled me to decide on my musical emphasis. Despite my percussive nature, divine calling beckoned me to the Horn. Since then, my cherished century-old heirloom and I have participated in events ranging from small chamber settings to large, multi-symphonic concerts.
College unveiled harsh realities: horn performance was not my future path. Despite my best efforts, I remained at an intermediate level amidst formidable competition. Disheartened, I explored fruitless avenues in music education and conducting.
Late into my undergraduate studies, I discovered brute administrative practices shedding light on my stunted growth and leading to critical financial hardship. It was a revered mentor who implored me to embrace composition and abandon all my vain work.
Despite the arduous learning curve, I dedicated countless hours to mastering the basics of this elusive art. The fruits of my labor now stand as a testament to my perseverance and determination.
Performance CV
I’ve had a long career in music and the arts; been playing horn since 2008 and grown a skillset in other musical aspects since. I was once told by a trusted mentor that it was critical to keep track of your music journey as a record as important as your resume. I take that one step further by making it available on my website for the convenience if ever an applicable desired audience were to require such history be provided, but I also like to think its just cool to see. Most musicians don’t store this sheer amount of data, heck, even share it.
